Parables

Parables are narratives constructed and expressed with intention to provoke contemplation and channel action. In a postsecular context, parables may be characterized as myths or visions, integrating religious imagery with scientific ideas. The value of parables depends not so much on whether they are true, but more on whether they are useful. Parables are a form of prophecy, not in the sense of fortune-telling or prediction, but rather in the sense of forth-telling, which would interactively co-create the future.
